{favorites}

i feel like with each kid the time flies by even faster.  and with ike it has definitely been the case.  he is such a wonderful baby.  he is started to be more alert and awake, which makes it more fun for all of us that can't get enough of him.

it's sad for me to say that his favorite person is NOT me.  he shows more smiles and love towards nolan and his daddy.  i wish you all could really see how ike follows nolan around the room.  there is a special bond between these two already.

i'm trying to teach the boys about earning their own money to buy the toys they want.  so i had them do some chores around the house to earn some money.  after that we went to the store to buy their favorite car that was within their budget.

i'm planning on doing this for most of their future toys.  i think it's a very important lesson to teach them.  and they loved giving their money to the lady at the check out.

another favorite around our house just had a birthday.  he is now 31 years old.  we are getting to be too old in this house.

we just did a small celebration this year.  jake got 3 days off of work to celebrate.  we had friends over on monday night with cake and ice cream.

the boys love birthdays because that means they get to blow out candles, eat cake, and play with friends.

another not so fabulous picture of the boys.

a random favorite of mine is the swing for ike.  it has been been such a saving grace when i have to get dinner ready or do chores around the house.  and, apparently, nolan likes it too.

jake wanted to take the boys ice skating for the first time but we decided to do it one at a time.  so while nolan was at preschool we took luke with his friend sophie.

i think luke looks so dang cute!  he was so excited to try it out.

the whole gang.  jake and josh had been talking about taking the kiddies skating forever.  we were so glad that we had a day where both the dad's had the day off.

luke and jake took right off, thanks to jake's fast skating.

for luke's first time he did a great job!  he didn't have one tantrum and he kept asking to stay out.  now if he could just learn to walk on the ice so that jake's back with still be intact.

i can't wait to take nolan.  that won't be until jake has another day off.  probably around nolan's birthday.  i'm sure it will be another favorite around our house.

we also just signed both the boys up for soccer this summer.  i can't wait!!!! (and neither can the boys)  i think they will love it and be so good at it.  i love that my boys are getting older because they get to try new things but at the same time i feel like time is slipping by so quickly.  so my goal is to try to soak up all these fun memories that we are having.
